The first of 2 Queenslanders in the initial Matilda's line-up is the latest to join the GFP.
Sue Monteith, Matilda #9, has nominated the Newmarket SFC from Brisbane's inner northern suburbs as her GrassRoots club.
The girl from McCook Park picked up the first of her 23 caps at Seymour Shaw Oval in Miranda in 1979 and would be a mainstay of the Australian midfield till 1987.
Sue coached the Australian Schoolgirls in 1988, a side that included no less than 8 future Matildas, including Cheryl Salisbury.
She is the 3rd of the first Matildas to join the Project and it is truly an honour to have her aboard.
