Vine's first taste of football came through infants school in Shepparton alongside her brother before the family moved to Brisbane's northern suburbs where she again played with and against boys for four seasons all the while under the watchful eye of her father, former Heidelberger Gary Vine.
Coming through the school system under Moreton Bay's Paul Dunne, Cortnee moved to Peninsula Power and eventually signed a train-on contract with the Roar before being selected in the Young Matildas squad alongside a slew of players recognised as the next generation of Matildas, most of whom have since earned their full caps.
Vine made her full debut, after two successful seasons at Sydney FC, at the 2022 Asian Cup and was one of the few players to still be playing her club football at home, preferring to study than race into an overseas contract.
