Finding photos of some of our internationals is harder than winning the lottery, then... bingo. Finally, I can add the name of Ian Hunter, Socceroo #298 to our list.
The club Ian nominated as his GrassRoots club is Blue Mountains FC from Glenbrook the first town on the climb heading west from Sydney.
The club only began in 1965 & Ian was there at Knapsack Park almost at the beginning.
Ian holds a remarkable place in our history making his debut off the bench in 1980 against PNG and then scoring a hat-trick. It was his only "A" international appearance, such was the reign of Rudi Gutendorf.
It is truly a relief to welcome Ian aboard & many thanks to Zisis Nioplias for the pic of the '79 World Youth team.
