Socceroo #588, is not only the newest Socceroo, but the latest to nominate his GrassRoots club.
Cap number 588 will be awarded to Mustafa Amini, currently plying his trade in Denmark with Gymnatikforening, after starting out with Dundas Utd from Sydney's west before settling in at Greystanes FC, the side he has named as his GrassRoots club.
Starting out as an 8-yr old, "Mussie" is well travelled for such a young man having grown through the tutelage of Trevor Morgan at Westfields Sports High. He shone at the Mariners before securing a spot on the roster of Bundesliga giants Dortmund alongside fellow Socceroo Mitch Langerak.
Consistent form in Denmark earned him his Socceroo call-up off the bench in the World Cup qualifier in Sydney against the UAE in 2017.
Long touted as a Socceroo in waiting I was sad to miss his debut but happy that he finally made it & that he has given the club from Bathurst St Park a place amongst football's elite family of GrassRoots clubs.
