The Motherwell striker has nominated Doveton S.C from Melbourne's south-east as his GrassRoots club, and in doing so joins fellow Socceroos Paul Wade & Warren Spink.
The name McDonald is inextricably linked with the club as both Scott's parents were heavily involved at Waratah Reserve & in fact met there & had their wedding reception there.
Scott has also given special mention to both Springvale City & Cranbourne & to Danilo Espinoza at Springvale who moved him from mid-field into the frontline & thus changed his future, and to Mr D., Tony Dunkerly, his state coach at the VIS.
Scott was one of 5 players who made his Socceroo debut in the 2006 Asian Cup qualifier against Bahrain, the first of 26 in all.
Scott is one of the few Socceroos to have carved out a career in Scotland, ironic isn't it, with lengthy stints at both Motherwell & Celtic.
