Sharon Dewar, Matilda #44, has nominated Lindfield FC as her GrassRoots club, joining Bruce Djite in doing so.
Back in the day there was no junior womens comp, so Sharon, as a 12 year old was mixing it with the big girls for the "Lindfield Ladies". Lindfield was part of the KDSA and played at Ku-ring-gai High School under the inspiring tutelage of Neil Campbell and such was the enthusiasm for the game training washouts meant whiteboard/learning sessions instead which the whole team ALWAYS attended. She would run up against 4 other Matilda's in those early years... Vinson, Wardell, Langlar & Salmons. Later in life Sharon moved to the Central Coast where she teamed up with fellow Matilda Renaye Iserief in rep sides.
Sharon earned the first of her 7 caps in 1987 against Canada in a pre-cursor to the World Cup.
