Sean Cranney, Socceroo #412, began his football journey with the Brisbane Lions as a 5 year old, playing up a year so as he could be in the same team as his elder brother Troy, but it is at the Annerley Football club in Brisbane's inner southern suburbs where the fire was truly lit.
At Annerley the brother's came under the watchful eyes of coaches Craig Lowe and Merv Cattermole and there they truly began to flourish.
Sean won the first of his three caps from the bench in 1995 against the old enemy in a friendly in Christchurch in a side made up entirely of locally based players. He would play in Australian U20 and U23 sides and would spend his the bulk of his career representing Brisbane teams in the NSL until finishing his career with Sydney's Northern Spirit.
