Rob's GrassRoots club was Pine Rivers FC from Strathpine in the northern suburbs of Brisbane.
The flying winger began at Wendy Alison Park as a 5 year old and very early on came under the tutelage of former Kiwi international Alan Marley who has guided the careers of so many promising youngsters from the area including Socceroos Zullo, Serota & Williams.
Robbie made his debut in the green & gold in 2011 against the UAE while on the books of Fortuna Dusseldorf and at the time of publication has 49 caps to his name, and Asian Cup Winners medal & eyes on the World Cup in Russia to make up for the Cup he missed out on in 2014 due to injury.
My thanks to Robbie's dad Ray for the pics and for not taking his the advice of all Robbie's brothers and naming him Rob and not Tom.
