Today's offering comes from Nicola Bolger, Matilda #181, the midfield dynamo from Sydney FC. Nicola has nominated the Wetherill Park Westerners from Emerson St. Reserve in Sydney's deep west as her GrassRoots club.
Another to take the well-trodden path of playing in a mixed team before finding an all-girls team at rep level.
Nicola made her debut off the bench in the green & gold against the familiar foe, New Zealand, in the 2012 friendly in Wollongong.
Her form made her a member of the World Cup squad in 2015 with further appearances a certainty.
It is a pleasure, on A & W-League double header day, to welcome her aboard & add another new club to the ever-growing list of clubs to have played their part in making Australian football what it is today.
