Nathan Burns, Socceroo #504, has nominated the Blayney Soccer Club on the western slopes of the NSW Blue Mountains as his GrassRoots club.
I caught up with Nathan at the fan day after a very impressive training session at Leichhardt tonight prior to the international against Greece.
Nathan debuted off the bench in the 2007 friendly against Singapore but really made his mark in the national team during the 2014 Asian Cup campaign; a long way from winters at Napier Park as a 6yr old. Nathan played at Blayney till he came to Sydney to further his football education at Westfields Sports High.
Blayney is probably the smallest club yet nominated & we're happy to add them to the list & welcome Nathan aboard.
