Matthew joins Aytek Genc in naming the Merrylands SFC from the heart of Sydney's west as his GrassRoots club.
Matt started at Merrylands Park as a 6yr old under the watchful eye of his father Bob and spent his entire GrassRoots career at the club before heading into the Granville Rep set-up thence onto Melita. Aytek played with Matthew's elder brother 2 years ahead at the club. He was also a member of Sydney FC's side that won the inaugural A-League in 2005.
Matt earned the first of his 14 caps from the bench in a friendly against Sth. Korea in 1993 and scored 5 times in the during his time in green & gold. He was also nominated for Marconi's greatest ever XI. Well played sir and welcome aboard.
