The club Mariana has nominated is a new one to the list, Adelaide Croatia, who played out of Hanson Reserve in Woodville back in the day.
Starting at the club at 13 and going straight into senior football at the minimum allowable age, she spent 8 years with the club now known as Adelaide Raiders. During her time there the club would rise from the 3rd division to win the 1st Div title and all the while being coached by players from the club's first grade men's side. The club, by all accounts, played a more technical brand of football than the others which no doubt contributed to their success.
Mariana made her debut in the Matildas midfield in 1986 in the first game of the Oceania Cup in New Zealand, a tournament in which she played in all 3 matches.
It is a pleasure to put another vital piece of the South Australian football puzzle into place.
