Manfred Schaefer has nominated Blacktown City as his GrassRoots club. While known for his time at the famous St.George Budapest club of the 60's & 70's, it was at City where he was given his first taste of competitive football as a 16yr old, having only played knockabout games and street football before. With Peter Wilson, Manfred wold go on to form one of the great defensive partnerships Australian football has known.
