Luke, one of the surprise packets of Australia's re-emergence on the World Cup stage, joins Steve Laybutt in nominating the club from Terry Reserve as the side most influential in his development. Starting with the club at the age of 5, Luke would spend 6 seasons developing his game there before moving into the rep system with Wolves and thence onto NSWIS.
At 15 he won a "Big Brother Scholarship" through NSWIS which took him to Teeside & Middlesboro FC where he spent a year, a year that coincided with the arrival of Mark Schwarzer at the club and a club he would later return to.
Luke was the first player from Australia to make his debut while playing with Bristol City, which he did in the 2004 Oceania Cup against the Solomon Islands.
