Keith Learmonth has nominated the now defunct Gwynneville Soccer Club from the Illawarra to Sydney's south as his GrassRoots club. Wiseman Park is now, for the most part, a Rugby League ground, but its where Keith grew up playing before moving, as a teenager, to Nth. Wollongong & thence the almighty Corrimal Rangers to play alongside 3 other internationals. Keith is centre row left in the primary school pic.
He also holds the record for being the first player to represent Australia at both junior & senior level, playing in the U15 side who took on NZ in 1948.
Keith was the leading scorer in state football for 3 years, outshining even the great Reg Date before injury sadly brought his blossoming career to a premature end.
Another thorough gentleman and a pleasure to say, welcome aboard Keith.
