The 3rd leg of the quaddie is in as Socceroo #356 names Port Melbourne SC as his GrassRoots club.
Although Port wasn't Joe's first club it was the club that moulded him as a player & the man most responsible was Stratos Kalogeros. Stratos built what is now confirmed as the first boys "Super Side" at JL Murphy Reserve. Joe, now AYL coach at Melbourne City began as a 7yr old in the U11s and played alongside Mehmet Durakovic for the bulk of his GrassRoots career with Micky P & Andrew Zinni completing the future Socceroo roll call at Port.
Joe made his only Australian appearance off the bench against Fiji in a 1988 Word Cup qualifier, one of 4 players to earn their caps that day.
