Jimmy McNabb, Socceroo #53, was only the 4th man to be entrusted with the role of custodian for an Australian team. A Weston man through and through, McNabb made his debut for the national team in 1933 alongside 9 others in the first match of the 3-Test series against the Kiwis at Brisbane's Exhibition Ground.
He held the job until 1939 and the match against Palestine at the SCG.
Weston was one of the clubs at the heart of Hunter Valley football which was a dominant force in the Australian game through the 30's and 40's and played at the Homestead Ground in Government rd, the site of today's Weston Park.
