I finally caught up with James at a Corona safe distance following the HAL matches between Sydney FC and Perth, the club that brought him home after 15 years overseas living his football dream.
Born on the land, James moved to Melbourne at the age of 5 where he began his footballing journey in the heartland of the AFL with Richmond Alemania where he came under the tutelage of Peter Pappageorgio. The talented defender spent 3 years at Kevin Bartlett Reserve before moving out to Box Hill where he was under the coaching of John Kennedy and followed in the footsteps of names like Mori, Barbieri & Kimon Taliadoros.
Meredith made his Socceroos debut at left back in Canberra in the World Cup qualifier against Kyrgystan in 2015 while playing with League One side Bradford City. Meredith had begun chasing his dream moving to the UK as a 16 year old where he would build a well respected career in the English lower leagues playing over 180 times for Bradford City.
