Socceroo #330, Ian Gray, is the earliest player to represent from Sydney's Northern beaches. Ian was proud of his links to the Manly Vale club and Miller Reserve where he played all his GrassRoots football before going into senior football with APIA & then Marconi.
He debuted for Australia in the same game as Frank Farina and Wally Savor against China in 1984 as part of our bid for Mexico '86.
Ian was coaching at Maccabi U15's when he died at the age of only 46.
Vale Ian, and a big thank you to Roy & Avenel for these wonderful pieces of GrassRoots football history.
