Today's nominator is one of the originals; Matilda #11, Leigh Wardell.
Leigh has nominated West Pymble FC from the Ku-ring-gai Association on Sydney's upper North Shore as her GrassRoots club & in doing so has joined fellow Matilda, Carol Vinson.
Leigh was a member of the very first Australian Women's side that took on NZ in a series of 3 matches in Sydney in October of 1979, thus securing her place in history.
In all, she earned 14 caps over a 9-year career scoring 4 times in the process.
She is now the 2nd of the originals to come on board & it is indeed an honour to have her with us.
