Kicking off the New Year with one of the Matilda's finest, Matilda #140, Clare Polkinghorne.
I caught up Clare at Lambert Park recently & she has nominated the Wynnum Wolves as her GrassRoots club.
The former Julie Dolan medalist started at Carmichael Park as a 4-year-old under the tutelage of her father and made her Matildas debut at the age of 17 against China in the run-up to the 2006 Asian cup finals.
Clare is now one of the most senior Australian internationals with close to a 100 caps to her name.
It was indeed an honour & a pleasure to chat with her and to welcome both her & her GrassRoots club, one of Queensland's longest continuous running clubs, to the project.
