Adelaide United's now record goalscorer, is the latest to nominate his GrassRoots club. Bruce Djite, Socceroo #512, following his brace against FC, named Lindfield FC from Sydney's "leafy" north shore as his GrassRoots club.
Starting as a 7-yr old spent 5yrs at Lindfield before making his way into the Ku-ring-gai rep set-up, then Northern Spirit before heading overseas from where he made his Socceroo debut off the bench against Singapore, the same game as Mile Jedinak and a number of others.
I remember fondly Bruce's home ground in Wellington Rd as being the ground where I developed the full field sweeper keeper, perfected by Manuel Neuer recently. Your welcome Manuel.
