He was one of those kids who began life with a ball at his feet and spent the first 5 years of his playing life at Dunstan Reserve gaining the skills that saw him rapidly move through the ranks. A couple of seasons at Keilor Park and then onto Sunshine George Cross at 15 and where at 16 he would make his senior debut.
Andrew would make his first appearance in the green and gold against the Norwegians in the run-up to the 1918 World Cup in Russia and started in both of Australia's opening 2 games before a dislocated shoulder ruled him out of the all-important Peru clash. He would return to the fold in the lead-up to the 2019 Asian Cup.
