Socceroo #221 joins the GFP. From the heart of Berwick-on-Tweed, 
Alan Ainslie has nominated the Spittal Rovers of Billendean Park as his GrassRoots club. Arriving here as a 21yr- old Alan went straight into the star studded St.George side of the late 60's before debuting for the national team in 1971.
A big welcome aboard to Alan Ainslie.

g,day my great uncle. hope you are well. im little Keith 43 today, big Keith is my uncle and Brenda is my mam. you would not want to be kicking a ball aboot in the oval thday, its pissing doon! well maybe you might. if I may ask u a question, do you remember what number you wore on that special day, or if there were even numbers? im planning to get 3 retro tops for my 2 brothers and me their birthdays coming up soon an I wanna de something koosty!

    Greg Werner began playing in 1965, with the GrassRoots club of Socceroo skipper Murray Barnes, a change of suburb at age 6 and a new club, one that would become the GrassRoots club of Rob Wheatley & after a 27 year hiatus came back to playing with the GrassRoots club of Socceroos Steve Perry, Richie Bell, Chris Iconomidis & Matilda, Justine Fisher, one could say that the links with the NT are ingrained.
    At age 55, when his body gave up on playing, he took up the whistle to stay actively involved. In November of 2014 he created the GFP on Facebook to fill the void left by those in control of the game & in January 2016 launched this website.
