The club the young striker has named is the now defunct, King Tom JSC, which in its day was one of many clubs formed by the burgeoning Croatian community around Sydney. There club played on the outer fields at Edensor Park which would eventually be subsumed by the growing club. Eventually King Tom Soccer club would come under the banner of the senior Sydney Croatia club which was competing in the NSW State League & thence the NSL.
Tony's only appearance for the national team came in 1990 off the bench in a 3-0 win over Indonesia in Jakarta in the final of the Merlion Cup. He played his entire senior career with Sydney Croatia/United & St.George.
My thanks must go to Jerry Glavan for finding the King Tom emblem which is now there for all to see. I had always thought the name Okon was only associated with Marconi but you will see Paul's older brother Klaus in the same King Tom U12 team front row centre.
