Born into a family with deep Scottish roots, Alexander 'Alec' Duncan grew up in Brisbane's east. While learning his football through the family and schoolyard, Alec played his grassroots football with the United Rangers club playing out of one of the most historic grounds in Queensland, Raymond Park in Kangaroo Point, and for the club which he, as a precocious youngster, help found.
Alec made his debut in the green and gold as a left back on the 1948 tour of New Zealand, and played his second and last game for Australia against the touring South Africans some seven years later.
Alec carries the Cap #109 and passed away in 2012 at the age of 92. He is pictured below standing alongside the great Joe Marston, whom we thank for the photo of the Canterbury v. Australia game from that tour & the family for the recent photo.
