Alexsandar has led quite the nomadic footballing career, taking him to Serbia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Czechia, Romania and South Korea, and when I spoke with him he was just finishing the season with his third A-League club, the Newcastle Jets.
For Alex, a Perth lad, this nomadic journey began with Perth Italia, otherwise known as Perth Azurri, or simply put now, Perth SC.
He began as an 8-year old at Forrest Park under the guidance of former Azurri player and Scottish professional Gavin Tait. Tait tutored the young Susnjar in the dark arts of defence until the family moved to Serbia when he was 13.
Alex made his one and only appearance to date under the reign of Bert van Marwijk in a 2018 friendly loss in Oslo against Norway, coming on the fellow defender Bailey Wright, and thus becoming Socceroo #594.
